Repair standards
All mechanical Pentax cameras require correct cleaning and relubrication
proceedures to ensure that the wind on, mirror box and shutter mechanisms
all operate smoothly and don’t wear. Sadly, most repairers
simply don’t know how to service a mechanical camera properly
and often, don’t even bother. Every Pentax camera we receive
is fully dismantled, cleaned, relubricated, and serviced to Pentax
factory specifications and we can guarantee to mechanically restore
a camera to the condition it was in when it left the factory.
LX repairs
All LX cameras we receive are resealed after repair with Japanese
sourced sealing agent. No other repairer anywhere in the UK offers
this essential safeguard. One of the main LX design criteria was
that all external covers should be sealed to prevent moisture and
dust entering the camera and this is why we reseal every LX camera
after repairs have been completed.

Buying second hand
Beware when buying second hand Pentax equipment on internet auction
sites. A significant percentage of repairs we now carry out are
to equipment purchased in this way. Most sellers don’t have
the expertise to check a camera properly and often use phrases like
“I don’t know a lot about cameras but it seems OK”
as an excuse if the buyer finds a fault or, are simply economic with
the truth.
